20th Edition of Encuentro de Clientes Amigos de Partagás/2010

The 20th edition of the Encuentro de Clientes y Amigos de Partagás will be held from 15th to 19th of November, 2010. The event, which is organized by the La Casa del Habano Partagás includes a welcome night as well as visits to tourist places and a Gala dinner as a farewell for smokers. In this occasion, there’s another reason to celebrate: The 165th anniversary of the Partagás factory.

The “Partagás” week more than event it has become a friendly meeting that gathers all Habanos lovers around the world, for exchanging news and information, knowing about new products or just simply to spend a nice time together and smoking a good cigar.

According to Abel Exposito, head of the Partagas Habano House, a grand total of 165 numbered humidors containing 50 cigars of vitolas rolled in the factory, especially hand-rolled for this occasion, will be put on sale to mark the factory’s 165th birthday.

Since 1998, we’ve been holding a weeklong gathering of customers and friends. In the beginning it was held in November. But from 2002 onward, we moved the date to April just to give a chance to those who couldn’t make in November.

The event is a fraternal meeting in which attendees enjoy the Cuban atmosphere, the beaches, the food and the drinks, and they puff on the finest cigars.

As many as 282 people attended last year’s edition. This year we hope to welcome 300 delegates.

How much does it mean to you that the factory has been standing tall for 165 years running in the same place where it was born?, we asked.

I’m so proud of that because tradition has prevailed. Entire families have worked here. This factory is in the downtown area, a sought-after destination among tourists. It’s the factory where foreign delegations come to the most, as well as political figures and boldface names from the arts and culture that visit the island nation.
