Cigar Factories: The Cradle of the Habanos

One of the major highlights during the 13th Habano Festival was the visit to the H. Upmann and Partagas cigar factories, where delegates could take a closer look at the productivity of the industry workers as an outstanding element within the cigar-making process

Shortly after daybreak, delegates toured the different departments in both factories and asked questions on how raw materials are taken care of, how quality is controlled and, above all, how premium cigars are hand-rolled.

At the Partagas Royal Cigar Factory, director Hilda Baro welcomed visitors and praised their interest in all the details about that industry founded in 1845.

The Partagas, Montecristo and H. Upmann brands have been honored within the framework of the Habano Festival, celebrations that have featured the launch of the new Series E of Partagas, the H. Upmann Half Corona and the much-anticipated Montecristo Gran Reserva, the latter scheduled for the Grand Gala Dinner on the 13th Habano Festival’s closing night.

During the visit to the cigar factories, many of the delegates wanted to learn the trappings of the Montecristo brand, one of the most historic and prestigious of all in the Habanos S.A. portfolio.
