U.S. journalist James Suckling said this festival is increasingly garnering the interest of Cuban premium cigars with each passing year.

During one of the breaks in the event’s sessions, Mr. Suckling commented he’s planning to conduct a tasting session of old habanos in the course of this festival, the chance of a lifetime that can only be compared to the tastings of the world’s finest wines.

Mr. Suckling, editor of well-known Cigar Aficionado magazine, has been addressing the topic of premium or hand-rolled cigars since the 1990s.

This wine expert expressed satisfaction for the tasting session of vintage habanos and underscored that premium cigars –as well as wines- can change their taste as time goes by, a condition that makes them far more attractive and interesting.
