Authorities from Habanos S.A. and Cuba’s Chamber of Commerce recognized a number of personalities with over fifty years of friendly commercial ties with the island nation.

The distinction was handed over to Jose Maria Cases from Andorra, Gregorio Socorro from the Canary Islands, the Freeman Family from the UK, and Henry Villiger from Germany.

The recognition underlines the attitude these people have had amid tough economic situations and the 50-year-old U.S. commercial embargo on Cuba.

The ceremony was held during the award presentation of the 13th Habano Festival’s Tradeshow at the Intl. Conference Center in Havana. Execs from Habanos S.A. and Estrella Madrigal, president of Cuba’s Chamber of Commerce, attended the event.
