A series of events were held in Chile in late November to celebrate the second anniversary of La Casa del Habano in Santiago.

The remembrance activities kicked off with a master chat delivered by Cuban master cigar maker Ideltrudis Cabrera as it targeted people who studying Hotel Management and Gastronomy at Chile’s Catholic University, where the expert explained the steps and secrets to create a fine habano, while the students learned a little bit more about habano and the art of hand rolling technique.

An exclusive reception was held at La Casa del Habano in Santiago that gathered Cuba’s ambassador to that country, Mrs. Ileana Arguelles, as well as Mayelin Costa, legal adviser of Habanos S.A.; Emma Pellon, Trade and Business counselor at Cuba’s embassy, and over a hundred cigar enthusiasts, including important Chilean CEOs and outstanding professionals.

The recent extension of Santiago de Chile’s La Casa del Habano was also inaugurated during the event, which already covers an area of some 200 square meters and boasts an outer and inner Bar Lounge, two wide walk-in humidors, lockers for associates and vast space for exhibitions linked to habanos.

Several events were also held during the following days for young professionals with the collaboration of the famous Brooks Brothers brand, specialized in top-of-the-line men’s clothes.

A celebration took place at Cuba’s Embassy where entrepreneurs, ambassadors and government officials enjoyed an evening dedicated to Cuban culture and legendary Habanos.

During the soiree, Cuba’s ambassador to that country thanked Jose Miguel Salvador, President of Cigar Chile, exclusive distributor in Chile, and Andres Arteaga, manager of La Casa del Habano in Santiago, for their constant collaboration and support in the promotion of Habano and Cuban culture in Chile.

Other events were also held as part of the commemoration, such as a dinner at the Club de Puros, Ritz Carlton Santiago, with a turnout of over 50 club members, headed by Jose Miguel Salvador.
