After telling three Habanos apart with their eyes covered –first by touch, and later on by sniffing at and puffing on them- only half a dozen from the fifteen initial competitors made it to the final of the Habano Blind Tasting Session, whose grand finale is scheduled for Friday at the Intl. Conference Center in Havana.

The three cigars to be discovered were a Perla (40x102), from Cohiba Siglo I; a Corona Gorda (46x143), identified as an Epicure No.1 by Hoyo de Monterrey; and a Robusto (50x124) that was no less a Montecristo Master.

For the final round on Friday –it promises to be extremely tough- the listed competitors are cigar rollers Teresa Arreaga from the H. Upmann Factory; Jimmy Sotolongo from Partagas; Mercedes Gonzalez from El Laguito; Judith Sobrino from Partagas; Mercedes Regalado from H. Upmann; and habanosommelier Osiris Oramas from the La Barca Restaurant.
