French author, illustrator, drawer, painter and muralist David Kesell couldn’t make it to Havana for work commitments. However, attendees at the event were able to learn about his pictorial career, closely linked to the realm of tobacco. A reference to this product in each and every one of his artworks is a token of elegance and pleasure. His works delve into the evolution of mankind and its ties –harking back to remote times- to this peculiar leaf. Thus, Kesell goes deeper into the different uses given to tobacco by the Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Roman and Medieval cultures.
