Cigars: The Heart & Soul of Cuba o Habanos: el corazón y alma de Cuba, a documentary by James Suckling and James Orr on the fascinating world of the finest Premium cigars of the world, was screened at Cuba’s Hotel Nacional within the framework of the celebrations for the 32nd International Havana Film Festival.
A luxury humidor with a commemorative vitola was given as a present to Cuban music composer Chucho Valdes on his 70th birthday by the members of Habanos S.A. Board of Directors during a press conference in which different activities to celebrate the musician’s birthday were announced.
It was Cuban sage Fernando Ortiz who shed light on the strong ties among rum, tobacco and coffee, as a quasi love-affair relationship among what he defined as “the three diamonds of the Island”, symbols, even related to the Cuban identity, that have made the rounds in the finest halls around the world and have been acclaimed by sybarites and lineage consumers.
Mexico’s Ethra Gallery recently held a tasting session of two Montecristo vitolas and an exhibition carried out by Canadian artist Claire Weissman.
The book, that possesses attractive design and nice format so that people who love the habano can read it fast, recreates such classics as Matisse, Gauguin and indirectly Da Vinci and Monet. It was recently launched in France by its authors, French David Kessel and Cyril Pelletier.

Now Partagas is surprisingly making two new launches that could be exclusively puffed on during the 13th Habano Festival: the new Series E No. 2, ring gauge 54, with its new vitola called Series No. 2 and the new and Series D No. 5 which is joining the larger-than-life Series D.
