Deluxe Pairing Between Montecristo Open Master and Ron Santiago Añejo 11 and 12 Years










Enjoying a good pairing is always a great moment, especially when Habanos play the leading role in that show for senses. That’s why the tasting session of Montecristo Open Master and Ron Santiago Añejo 11 and 12 Years was one of the key moments during the 1st Excelencias Santiago de Cuba 2015 International Gastronomic Seminar and the 1st International Symposium from Cacao to Chocolate, which recently came to an end at Meliá Santiago Hotel, in Santiago de Cuba city.


Both delegates and guests tasted one of the flagship products of Habanos’ vitolas, in a perfect pairing with the most emblematic rum of the easternmost region of Cuba. The pairing was highly praised by experts and enthusiasts, and most of them expressed that Ron Santiago Añejo 12 Years was the best pairing with the chosen Montecristo.


The event as attended by Masters Paco Torreblanca and Joaquin Capdevila, described as the finest confectioner chefs of the world; as well as the Ambassador of the Iberian-American Gastronomy Academy, Jose Carlos de Santiago, and the President of the recently established Gastronomy Professorship of Cuba, Ciro Bianchi.


The list of attendees also included executives from hotels, restaurants and bistros, private and cooperative entrepreneurs, drink and food suppliers, chefs, bartenders, sommeliers, marketing and PR agents from the gastronomic sector; as well as historians, intellectuals and figures of culture and society.
