Habanos S.A. Shines at 25th TFWA World Exhibition Cannes

Habanos S.A. unveiled its most emblematic products in 2011 at the 25th edition of the Tax Free World Association Exhibition that took place last September in Cannes City.
Among the products presented to the attendees, there were the new Partagas Series E No. 2, Series D No. 5, that round out the range of Series D H. Upmann Half Corona and H. Upmann Royal Robusto to be sold in La Casa del Habano store network. The new brand of the 2011 Cohiba 1996 Edicion Limitada –the Short Hoyo Piramides de Hoyo de Monterrey- and Allones Extra of Ramon Allones were also introduced.
Attendants could appreciate the new special series Montecristo No. 2 Gran Reserva 2005.

Some 500 companies representing thousand of prestigious hallmarks attended the 25th edition of the Tax Free World Association, which is part of the Duty Free Industry calendar. This exhibition attracts thousands of visitors during that week, including airlines, cruise liners, airport operators, as well as other duty free operators at world level.
In the same breath, Habanos S.A. gave exclusive distributors, duty free customers and the press a look at its new products for 2011, also scheduled to be also sold at duty free stores around the world in coming months.

During the weeklong official presentation of the new habanos, there was a gala dinner at the prestigious Baoli Restaurant attended by important members of the board of directors of Habanos S.A., such as Javier Terres Ercilla, Deputy President of Development; Ana Lopez Garcia, Director of Marketing Operations, as well as exclusive distributors from different habano markets from around the world.
The attendance of Habanos S.A. at the TFWA this year was characterized by the wide amount of visitors in Bay Village Exhibition Booth 23, including visitors and businesspeople interested in the product and its distribution, and where a cigar roller captured the attention and interest of most visitors.
The duty free sector is highly important for Habanos. By the end of 2010, the annual growth rate put on a double-digit uptick and is expected to keep it on the rise. The total sale of habanos in the duty free niche accounted for 28 percent of all sales in 2010. That number is expected to soar by the end of the ongoing year.
