Havana Wears its Finest Gown for Habanos

A colorful opening ceremony raised the curtains of the 15th Habano Festival that was held this time around at the Castle of the Three Kings of Morro, a symbolic fortress of Havana right at the entrance of the bay. 

El Morro Castle put on its best bib and tucker for a Cuban-flavored show that entertained attendees during the opening dinner dedicated to the Montecristo brand, so no wonder they delegates reveled in the new Montecristo No. 2 and Montecristo Double Edmundo, exclusively reserved for this occasion, that were warmly acclaimed by the guests.

In his welcome remarks to the more than a thousand guests from seventy nations who will be attending this weeklong Festival, Habanos S.A. co-president Walfrido Hernandez Mesa thanked all boldface names who have gathered for this special anniversary of the event –its 15th edition in a row.

Mr. Hernandez Mesa said this is going to be a very special week because Cuba is hosting Habano lovers from around the world, who are now eager to enjoy the assorted program pieced together for them.

For his part, Luis Sanchez-Harguindey, also co-president of Habanos S.A., wished the very best to all delegates and urged them to wallow not only in Habanos, but also in Havana, Cuba and the Cuban people.
