A Masterful Cañonazo

1/03/2012

No other than Arnaldo Oballe, director of the El Laguito cigar factory –the place where the celebrated Cohiba habanos are made- was the professor of this lesson in which he taught attendees to roll a Cañonazo (ring gauge 52 x 150mm long).

The master cigar roller led “his pupils” through a step-by-step class full of good undertaking and curiosity in which several hundred apprentices rolled their own Cañonazos into shape.

People from China, Mexico, UK, Japan, Russia, Brazil and Cuba, as well as people from all walks of life and specialties linked to the universe of habanos, or just aficionados, showed up at the Intl. Conference Center Hall where this master class took place, some sort of interactive workshop that gave participants the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to puff on a habano they had rolled with their own hands.
