Montecristo No. 2 Gran Reserva 2005 Becomes Habanos’ Newest Sensation to Kiss the Year Goodbye with a Bang
When it comes to seeing a year off and welcoming a new one, there’s simply no room for skimping. We deserve the very best that day. And when it comes to habanos, the new Montecristo No.2 Gran Reserva 2005 is the right choice, an exclusive product the company has only churned out 5,000 numbered boxes of 15 units apiece.
The first Gran Reserva de Montecristo has seen the light of day with one of the most emblematic vitolas this brand –founded in 1935 and by far one of the most sought-after cigars in Habanos S.A.’s vast profolio- has ever had.

The habanos making up the Gran Reserva de Montecristo have been rolled with leaves that have endured a special aging process of at least five years.
This new Gran Reserva goes deeper into Habanos’ one-and-only character as a Protected Denomination of Origin.
For rolling the Gran Reserva de Montecristo, the finest tobacco leaves from Vuelta Abajo*, Cuba* -harvested in 2005- were handpicked.
All the leaves making up this unique Habano –filler, binder and wrapper- were aged for a long and thorough process of at least five years, always under the watchful and painstaking eye of Cuban planters. The control of the aging process for these precious leaves –they were whipped into shape by the hands of seasoned Montecristo cigar rollers from the H. Upmann factory- is meant to please the most demanding smokers on the face of the earth.
The whole creative process of the Gran Reserva abides by selection criteria expected in a unique product, from a long and thorough aging process all the way to the tasting session of a blend that guarantees an undisputed, harmonic and enduring taste.
The Gran Reserva de Montecristo is a unique and extremely reduced output of barely 5,000 numbered boxes of 15 units apiece.
