A very exclusive tasting session of vitolas rolled with leaves hailing from the tobacco-producing districts of San Juan y Martinez and San Luis was held Tuesday during the Habano Festival


The unveiling of the two newest vitolas in Habanos S.A.’s portfolio rolled up the curtain of the 16th Habano Festival.

Cuba steps back on the world spotlight with the biggest international event for lovers of the planet’s best tobacco –the Habano Festival- whose 16th edition opened officially last night at the Club Habana in the island nation’s capital.


Like every year, the Gala Night of the Habano Festival organized by Habanos S.A. will announce the winners of the Habano Awards in the Production, Communication and Business categories, in an effort to recognize outstanding personalities in each of these fields for their ties with habanos. Though the recipients of this year’s awards are yet to be trumpeted, the nominees were revealed in a press conference.


Habanos s.a. presents Le Hoyo de San Juan and Partagás Serie D No. 6, which will be the focus of this years Welcoming Evening .

The sales of Grupo Habanos, which this year celebrates its 20th anniversary, have experienced a significant growth of over 8% in 2013

The names of the celebrities from different fields attending the event will be announced during the week



Montecristo No. 2 is no doubt the undisputed king of figurado (tapered) cigars and one of the bestsellers in Habanos S.A.’s portfolio, garnering great commercial success and reviews, reasons why Cigar Aficionado magazine has picked it among the finest cigars of 2013.


As just another token of Habano´s prestige and in keeping with the world trend for the registration of great denominations of origin and geographic indications, Chile’s National Institute of Industrial Property (INAPI) has granted that recognition to the DO Habanos.




The 16th edition of the Habano Festival will stretch from Monday Feb. 24 to Friday Feb. 28, 2014, and this time around the fest will pay tribute to four of the most prestigious Habano brands: Hoyo de Monterrey, Partagas, Trinidad and H. Upmann.

The festival has panned out to be a benchmark event for the world’s finest cigars: the Habanos. In last year’s edition, the Habano Festival was attended by over 1,200 delegates from some 80 countries.


For the seventh time in a row, Havana House Cigar & Tabaco, Habanos S.A.’s exclusive distributor in Canada, organized its Golf & Cigar Dinner Smokes & Strokes, Cuban Style Tournament in the cities of Toronto and Montreal.


La Casa del Habano in Toronto opened in recent days a new and broader place, so now the franchise boasts 1,700 square feet of space for smokers and Habano lovers to enjoy these gems at their very best.


Hollywood star Danny Glover was awarded with the XV Habanos Festival Special Prize and the famous tennis player Boris Becker gave the Habanos Awards in the Communication Category.
Partagás introduced its first Gran Reserva in its 168 years of history.
1,3 million dollars for the Cuban Public Health System were collected in the traditional Humidor Auction that closed the XV anniversary of the Habanos Festival.
