If the realms of pairings between Cuban cigars and the most selected beverages were to speak the same language, it would be in Portuguese, at least for this year.

Primer lugar en el Concurso Habanosommelier

The South American man swept jurors off their feet with his kind and special service, coupled with the grace Brazilians are characterized by. Moreover, he excelled in his knowledge about habanos. The happy winner came up with a pairing between the Cohíba Siglo VI (Cañonazo is the factory vitola) and the Havana Club Selección de Maestros rum, as well as between Partagás Lusitania and el Chivas Regal Aged 18 Years.

The runner-up was Cuba’s Andres Piñon, while the third place was for Lucas Tramontana from the UK.

In the grand finale, the contestants engaged in a setting specifically designed for each and every one of them. They were briefed with primary information on everything the patrons had eaten and drunk, and then were supposed to offer a habano and drink service with a pairing based on the meal, let alone trying to match the patrons’ preferences in those respects.
