Welcoming Evening: Presentation of the Launchings for 2011 of Habanos s.a., Exclusive Concert of Maestro Leo Brouwer, and Welcoming Cocktail

The XIII Habanos Festival will begin on February 21 with a Welcoming Evening, which will be celebrated at the Gran Teatro de la Habana with an exclusive concert held by the Cuban maestro Leo Brouwer, Founder and Director Emeritus of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Córdoba and winner of a Latin Grammy 2010, who will present a show entitled “Leo Brouwer Essential” with music directed and written by this made famous Cuban composer and musician, in the which he will evoke with his music the magic of the Habano and of Cuba.

Guests of international standing will accompany him, as the guitarist/lutenist Edin Karamazov, who has recorded several music tracks in collaboration with Sting, and José Manuel Hierro, the guitarist from Córdoba, recipient of two Spanish National Awards for guitar, among others many acknowledgments.

Will also participate: Javier Riba, Vocal Sampling, Ernán López-Nussa, Lizt Alfonso dance company, Havana string quartet and Erdwin Vichot. This insures us a merge of styles: Cuban, Central European, and Spanish, which will surely surprise those present.

During this night, the new launchings for 2011 of Habanos s.a. will be presented.

The nominations to the Habanos 2010 Awards will also take place, which will celebrate 15 years since its creation, an award presented since 1995 to the most prominent people of the year in the world of the Habanos, in three categories: Production, Communication and Business.

The traditional Welcoming Cocktail will be served after the show. Those taking part in the event will have the opportunity to taste the new product exclusively; the Serie E No. 2 of Partagás will be first, which inaugurates the new Serie E in the brand.

The other exclusive launching in Partagás is the Serie D No. 5, short and thick in format; will permit us to discover its aromas and to enjoy its intense flavor in the Welcoming Evening.
