Montecristo No. 2 is no doubt the undisputed king of figurado (tapered) cigars and one of the bestsellers in Habanos S.A.’s portfolio, garnering great commercial success and reviews, reasons why Cigar Aficionado magazine has picked it among the finest cigars of 2013.

With 96 points under its band –the highest mark ever grabbed by a cigar puffed on in the blind- Montecristo No. 2 tops the list of the best cigars on the face of the earth.

According to Cigar Aficionado, Montecristo No. 2 has recently come up with amazing cigars teeming with rich tastes, with notes of leather, sweet spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, alongside non-spicy wood.

Montecristo No. 2 boasts one of the original sizes of this brand founded in Cuba by Alonso Menendez back in 1935. The cigar rapidly became one of the flagship cigars for this company.

The Count of Montecristo, the 1844 work penned by French novelist Alexander Dumas that ends with a dramatic swashbuckling scene, is thought to be the inspiration for this great cigar.

Today, the Montecristo box features crossed swords inside a triangle pattern, while the band shows off a majestic fleur-de-lis in the middle, a token of the French monarchy.

Montecristo No. 2 is a classic and the best cigar of 2013 for Cigar Aficionado magazine.
